Silent Thoughts

English Translation
To end the disasters of the world,
We must improve the human mind.

Original Mandarin Version
解除人间的灾难
一定要从
改善人心做起

Deimos Analyzes
This one is hard, but I will attempt to interpret it from a Blogger’s point of view anyway.

A Blogger’s Disaster
A disaster in the physical realm is a bad thing, often very very bad and is of large scale, i.e. hurricane, earthquake, famine, plague etc. So, what kind of bad things that could happen to Bloggers and could be ended by improving the Blogger’s mind?

Something bad happened to the blog …
Well, somehow I managed to think up a few, but they can not be exactly ended, more like prevented upon improving the Blogger’s mind. I suppose a Blogger’s biggest disaster has to be related to the Blogger’s Blog, i.e. Blog got hacked, database corrupted, WordPress plugin totally messed up everything etc.

How to avoid bad things happening to our blogs?
Blog hacked? Really hard to prevent if the said hacker is really determined and very skilled but there are a number of ways (this itself would be a topic for another day) to increase the security level of blogs which may help a bit. Database corrupted? Did you backup your database often? WordPress plugin made the blog look funny, cease to function properly? Backed up the template earlier? Just some basic thingies that can be practiced, but it works to a certain extent.

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Quite difficult to browse using a 56k dial up connection so no reads until I get back to the city, let me know if you have an interesting article you would like featured here.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Unable to think straight as I just received a cellphone text message from my Dad notifying me that my beloved old doggie – Baby Girl passed away 8:10am (GMT+8:00 – 22 March 2008) just now. A sad day for me, even sadder that I am not at home to see her for the last time, to tend to her burial, etc. She will be remembered, and missed greatly.

There is something that I always wanted to do, that is to take daily photos of her until the day she passes away. Ironically, I never did get myself started on doing that. Guess there are some times that you just can’t wait until later to do it, especially true in my case. Appreciate every moment, every day – Be grateful for every day.

What do you think Bloggers’ disasters are? What are the worst things that could happen to a Blogger aye? What could be done to end or prevent those disasters?

    Hey there Deimos,

Sorry about your loss, but worry not, when we die we usually end up in a better place 😉

As for the topic of this article, indeed changing the world begins with changing ourselves (yeah it’s a cliché). Bad things (or rather what we interpret as bad things) happen, whether we want it or not, what I think it’s important is to as ourselves what is the lesson we’re supposed to learn from it. Many times after some time passes, we realize that the “bad” thing was actually the best thing that could have happened at the moment; but we only realize this after enough time has passed.

    Cheers!
    Ion

I am sorry to hear about Baby Girl. She was such an adorable dog. No doubt your mom loves her the most. I still remember the time that I walk her and handsome boy every evening when I was in KL.

By the way, your this silent thoughts and the banner design is a bit “contradicting” -_-“

Kinda depends on what the hacker did when they hacked the blog. ➡
    An example of a hacked blog – http://wiflba.com/ 😮
Warning, might contain malicious spyware adware etc. 😐
