Kidnapped, Released: Dora Goh Wei Wei

Pretty young girl Kidnapped and Released!
Within these two (2) days, it seems that the hottest news among the Malaysian Online Community would be the kidnapping of a young 25 years old pretty lady who goes by the name of Dora Goh Wei Wei. It was later reported that Dora Goh Wei Wei was released by her captors.

Kidnappers who releases
Thank goodness that her captors released her. Most kidnap cases end up the victim dead or missing in action and never to be found.

Fellow Bloggers Care

Dark Times Ahead
It appears that the security in Malaysia has degraded much. For myself, I dare not take any chances and would gladly continue to personally drive / fetch my Darling to / back from work. Even though her working place is just a five (5) minutes walk away from our place, still not worth risking it.

Kidnapped fashion designer freed
Charles Ramendran
SHAH ALAM (Nov 29, 2007): A 25-year-old fashion designer, whose photos were put up on the Internet in a plea to the public to help look for her following her abduction at Hicom Glenmarie Industrial Park here early Wednesday, was freed by her assailants today.

The woman, who works for a textile and footwear company, was walking to her office on Jalan U1/20 after parking her car in an open carpark nearby, when a Toyota Camry pulled over next to her at about 9am.

It is learnt that two men stepped out and bundled the victim into the car, which sped off after that.

The incident was witnessed by her colleagues, who alerted the police.

It is learnt that for the next 22 hours, the victim was taken on a terror ride to several locations, including Seremban.

Shah Alam deputy police chief Supt Mohd Shariff Abd Wahid said the woman was released in Taman Midah, Cheras today after her abductors managed to withdraw RM3,500 from her bank accounts through automated teller machines.

The woman was sent for a medical check-up in Selayang Hospital where she was warded.

“We have yet to record a statement from her on what transpired throughout her ordeal but we are tracking down the abductors based on the information we have,” Mohd Shariff said.

After informing the police, the victim’s colleagues sent out emails with several photos of her and a note urging the public to alert the police if they spot her.

Blogs and online forums also put out word on her abduction which became a hot topic of discussion in several websites.

Mohd Sharif said although the police understood the colleagues’ concern for her safety, the police did not encourage the public to post details on the Internet.

He said this can put the victim’s life in danger should the abductors discover that the police were looking for them.

Read up on it in many blogs…… It would seem the whole online community in Malaysia knew about it. However, one thing though…. it cause too much publicity….. if any of the kidnappers found out, they could panic and the consequences might be grave……..

Good to see that the cyber demon DTA is still active. Was very surprised when I saw you posted a comment on ahlost’s blog lol.

Great coverage on the issue. Hopefully the kidnappers will be caught soon. But I do wonder whether or not posting pleas online is good or bad. While it does help alert more people to keep an eye out, it would also be bad if the kidnappers found out about it.

Well, I think the kidnappers would not have time to surf the internet anyway if they are spending much time inside the car? No idea how a kidnapper thinks though.

Yeah it would be dangerous if the kidnappers happen to be a local blog / forum reader as well. 😯

    @Nekonron:
    Arlo! πŸ˜€
I was a bit shocked myself when I see that Dyna-Storm is the author of games.osiristeam.net

πŸ˜› ahlost is a friend of you guys yarr? I just Google searched for “Dora Goh Wei Wei” and clicked on one of the search results.

Let me query my database, last I remembered, Satam and Dyna-Storm hangs out together, so you must be Satam? Do correct me if I am wrong. 😐

Okay back to the topic at hand:
Yar, I too agree that it would be baddie bad bad if bad guys happen to surf the local blogs and forums as well.

Perhaps fellow local bloggers and forumers ought to be a bit careful in the future with such cases? ❓

By the way, thanks for the visit to my domain, Cheers!

Yup, thats me alright lol. ahlost is an old friend of ours but she would probably kill me if she found out that I called her “old” πŸ˜›

It might be safer if the news is spread over more “secure” channels such as IMs where its harder for just anyone to access it.

Duh! Why the change of nick yar?
Though I suspect that the author of anime.osiristeam.net is probably you, since I seems to recall that you are quite an anime freak. πŸ˜›

Anyway, Dora Goh is safe now. For that we alone we should be glad, thank goodness.

“Secure” channels or not, I doubt that the kidnappers who are on the run would have the time and leisure to browse the local blogs and forums.

Unless the kidnappers are local bloggers or forumers themselves? 😯

    Cheers!

    Hi there,
Can i suggest that her pictures be removed or mosaic out to protect her from further embarrassment because there are unconfirmed reports that she was raped.

I have also blogged on this, and I think it would be good for the lady’s sake that we removed the pictures.

    Just a suggestion.
