Deimos’s Thoughts
Graphics appear to be rather simple but still nice looking overall, simple controls and game play is considered simple but still complex enough to be a nice role playing game.

Played pen & paper role playing games before? Yes? No? Why?

We used to have saturday afternoons reserved for role playing games. The guys started to get really into it and came with swords and helmets and other accessories to really spice proceedings up! More on topic, Shadowreign looks like fun, I’ll give it a try!

I have played them but this one is rather complicated. Too many distracting things and one looses track.

So, i just finished the whole game and i have a few comments. Before i start i have to say i’m not a games expert, or a critic, i’m just a gamer and i’m just saying my opinion. Here we go:

I finished the game with a gladiator/assasin crossclass and one skill from warden (the healing skill). I didn’t answer any riddle correctly (so i don’t know what happens) and i didn’t buy any items from shops (including pots) and i had more than 1000 coins.

    1. In the beginning i liked the fact you could choose skills from different classes as it made the game more diverse. But this also means it’s a lot easier since there is no penalty for crossclassing. Plus since you can pick abilities from any class you don’t have the urge to play it again.

    2. Stealth in the assasin class is great for the mission with the flower, i didnt find any other advantage other than getting the first strike since you cant use it again afterwards. and since you can reset your skills with only 100 coins you can pretty much just be any class and reset skills to use stealth for that mission only. This means that the skills that require stealth also become useless. Remember: assasin’s top skill requires stealth.

    3. I have no clue what the riddles’ answers are but i felt kinda depressed when i realised it’s only 3 riddles and you only get one chance for each one. Plus if the answer is numerical do we have to write it in numbers or words? but it’s ok, i’m just angry i got 0/3 😛

    4. the enemies and the missions get a bit repetitive. The enemy mages don’t really have spells, they only tend to cast one and the mellee enemies don’t really have skills apart from plague (i think). and i got really bored in the mission with the three gates.

    5. VERY IMPORTANT : in the picture logo you show a gladiator and a warden. The gladiator is holding a FLAIL but i saw no flail in the game. I don’t even think any enemies were holding one. So you see the intro screen and you think “yeah i wanna be that badass warrior and kill everyone with that flail” but then you get a bit dissapointed.

    6. is the item drop chance completely random? im asking this because i got a purple dagger (called fire and ice) from one of the first enemies and pretty much used that until i got the final set.

BUGS: and now we move to the favorite part of the reader.

    a. If an enemy is chasing you and you press lets say “a” to go left then you release it and you press it again right before he can attack you then you attack him but he doesn’t attack you. I found that when equipped with a dagger you can pretty much go in circles and you will keep attacking them because you’re close enough, but they won’t attack you.

    b. like i said above i used stealth to finish the mission with the flower. but the mission is about bravery not cheating. a good thing would be, since picking the flowers petal is an action, you should lose your stealth when you pick the petal. this isnt exactly a bug but i thought it was. anyway.

    c. if you play the game on a player rather than a site, then you can zoom in. if you do that, characters appear on the left or right of the screen in certain areas, characters that appear later in the game but you can’t see them early on. It kinda ruined the surprise for me.

    d. im not sure if this is a bug but ill put it here: the crazy man in the south gives you the same item for both missions you have to complete and it’s an item a lot worse than the ones you get to equip until that stage of the game.

anyway, it was a good game, i liked it 🙂

i hope you liked my comment! see you in your next game 😀

Sorry but these kinds of games bore me to death. I’m not into games where you have to build up so much stats and explore every corner of the map.
