It's easily the best Marvel superhero movie since Spiderman 2. It's faithful to the spirit of how Iron Man and Tony Stark are in the movies, while innovating in ways that make sense in the context of the movie. The idea of the power source being Stark's primary invention and the very thing that makes the powered armor possible was not in the original comic, but works well in the movie. The only real flaw in the whole movie was that the final battle against Stane (Iron Monger) looked and felt less cool than all of the previous battles. Oh, and Gwyneth Paltrow, despite being an actress specially noted for her talent, wasn't given much to do in the film.
