Today is Sunday, again Deimos does not feel like producing an original post today so he will share an enlightening email forward he came across in his email inbox instead.

CHRISTIAN WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS
‘Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice.’

1. Pray.
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.

9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.

13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.

20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.

25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good ‘Thank you Jesus.’
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).

31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down..
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

‘If God is for us, who can be against us?’
(Romans 8:31)

I want God to bless you.

Though Deimos is not really a Christian, and more of a Buddhist practitioner, he still finds these methods very useful for reducing stress.

English Translation
Only with our feet firmly
planted on the ground
can we hope for stability,
inner peace and freedom.

Original Mandarin Version
做人踏实
才能稳定自在

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
For those people who indulge in high risk, high returns activities such as gambling, or so called “investing” in the share market etc, can be said are people who do not quite have their feet firmly planted on the ground. How can they have stability, inner peace and freedom when the odds of making a profit or living from those activities are not stable itself?

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Doing paid posts or selling some links might allow a blogger who is eager to make money online a few quick dollars, in the long run that blogger’s blog’s page rank will be penalized by Google, thus directly affecting the value of their paid posts or links’ worth.

Star Wars – Knights of the Old Republic
The guy on the left side with its feet off the ground is certainly not having any inner peace and freedom as he is forced chocked to death! The above image is from the once popular PC Role Playing Game – Knights of the Old Republic, based in the Star Wars universe.

Deimos’s Daily Reads

Deimos’s Thoughts
At the moment, Deimos strongly feels like he is searching for a place to have his feet firmly planted into the ground, in order to have stability, inner peace and freedom. As of now, he seems to have found a direction to progress, hopefully everything would work out well.

English Translation
When we are irritated by others,
it is actually because we are still lacking
in graciousness.

Original Mandarin Version
看别人不顺眼
是自己修养不够

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
Say you are driving and a guy cuts into your lane, what do you do? Do you feel extremely irritated because of his inappropriate driving manners? Or do you feel relieved, as no automobile accident occurred as a result of that and you carry on driving happily?

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
How do you feel when some bloggers leaves insincere comments on your posts? In some cases, it is quite obvious that the commentator did not did not fully read the post before leaving a comment. Would you dislike that particular blogger for such an action? Or you do not mind that at, appreciate that blogger’s comment, and would continue to network sincerely with such bloggers? How would you feel?

Amorphous+
Amorphous+ is a flash game that caught the attention of many flash game players recently and Deimos is experiencing a search engine traffic spike as a result of this.

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Screen shots and commentatory of the movie – Saw, courtesy of levian.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Deimos believes that if a person is very easily irritated, that person is at a disadvantage. Say at your work place, if you get irritated because of a particular colleague’s attitude, behavior, etc, how are you going to have a pleasant time at work? Can you concentrate? Can you perform well? Or will you be thinking about how irritating that particular colleague is instead?

Deimos Asks
Are you easily irritated? Do you think it is a good thing to be easily irritated?

Charles Schultz Philosophy
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

You don’t have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you’ll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.

They are the ones that care.

Pass this on to people who have made a difference in your life.

‘Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia ‘ (Charles Schultz)

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Need to improve your English language proficiency? Proceed to check out these Free Online Language Resources as recommended by Nicole Price then.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Overall, it appears that this philosophy is emphasizing on the importance of friends, since good teachers during a person’s schooling period can be as good as friends. In the physical realm, Deimos feels quite alone at the moment, in terms of keeping in touch with friends.

Deimos Asks
After being in a relationship for quite some time, do you still keep in touch with your friends often? As in through actions in the physical realm, say telephone conversations, coming out for a drink and chat etc. Or are you the lazy type that prefers to rest at home?

English Translation
Intelligence is not wisdom
but wisdom encompases intelligence.
The intelligent person is
overly concerned with gain and loss;
the wise can let go.

Original Mandarin Version
聪明不一定有智慧
但是智慧一定包括聪明
聪明的人得失心重
有智慧的人则勇于拾地

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
Let’s say one day, if your girl or boy friend, lover, husband or wife, spouse, partner, soul mate, significant etc is going to ditch you for someone else, when the time has come for them to go, they gotta go. Just let it go, or else you would end up quite miserable.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Uncle Google can give you good Page Rank, but Uncle Google can also take away your good Page Rank? Not sure how else to relate this to bloggers.

Master Yoda
Master Yoda is very wise indeed.

Deimos’s Daily Reads

Deimos’s Thoughts
Deimos must become wiser as a wise person is able to let go.

Deimos Asks
What would you do, if at the very present moment, you are unable to see a very bright future in your current relationship with your boy or girl friend of more than four (4) years?

English Translation
People always seek “to have”,
but “to have” is actually to have misery.

Original Mandarin Version
人都是求“有”
有就是烦恼

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
This is pretty straight forward, when people wanted to have something, they will attempt to acquire it. Unable to acquire what they want, they might feel miserable.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Many bloggers are blogging for money, after realizing that it is not as easy as it appears to be, many quit. This is a good thing actually, as the sub par blogs will die off.

The Sims
The image used in the banner is from the game – The Sims and that Sim is looking quite miserable. To be honest, Deimos is feeling quite miserable these few days as well.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Today is the last day of Deimos’s Hong Kong Macau tour and he ought to reach LCCT Malaysia by around 11:30pm-ish. This is a scheduled post, courtesy of the WordPress blog publishing system. Hopefully, Deimos would be happier after going on a vacation trip.

To produce useful quality posts is the duty of bloggers?

Call of Duty
English Translation
However much we can
just start doing it,
for if we wait,
we may wait in vain.

Original Mandarin Version
有多少力量就做多少事
不要心存等待
等待会落空

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
This can refer to many things, say studying, working, business etc. For students, if they wait till the last minute to study or do their assignment, they would not have enough time.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Sometimes, you just gotta publish that post at that moment, wait too long and the chance to score well in terms of Search Engine Result Page might have depreciated.

Metal Gear Solid
The image in the banner is from the game Metal Gear Solid, a stealth game in which the player plays the role of a special agent. Players often have to wait for the perfect timing to move or strike down their enemies. Deimos is not exactly a fan of such stealth games.

English Translation
Let our hearts
embrace the universe
and love all beings.

Original Mandarin Version
我们的心量与爱
必须包容天地万物
一切生灵

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
How is it possible to love a snatch thief who just snatched your purse, caused you to fell down and injure yourself in the process. What about the band of robbers who broke into your house, slashed at your face and took off with your valuables?

Thus, it can be said that It is not possible for mere mortals to have a heart broad enough to embrace to universe and love all beings.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Sploggers, scrappers, content thieves, idea stealers, comment spammers etc are the bane of real bloggers, do they deserve love? Are we able to love them for their atrocities?

Universe at War

Deimos’s Thoughts
Unless one decides to severe all ties with the material world and become a monk or some hermit hiding out in the mountains, it is very hard, if not down right impossible to love all beings, especially bad or evil people that commit many bad or evil deeds.

English Translation
Regardless how far the
we do our best to reach our goal.
This is perseverance at its best.

Original Mandarin Version
不管路有多远、自己的能力有多少
都能随分随力尽量去达成目标
此即“毅力”

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
To quote William Hung “I already gave my best. I have no regrets at all.” and that is the kind of attitude that everyone ought to adopt.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
The journey to achieving blogging fame and fortune is quite far, and not everyone manages to reach that goal, even though they may already have been blogging for years.

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D
The image used in the banner is from the new movie titled “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D” which is a 3D action adventure movie starring Brendan Fraser. Deimos has yet to watch it on the big screens though he has checked out its movie trailer.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Sometimes, it is better to take a break, have a good rest, before continuing on the journey. The reason why we take breaks and rest is so that we are able to journey further, ultimately reaching our goal. In the society of now, there are many workaholics who work too much and not enough rest, not exactly very healthy.

Deimos Asks
English Translation
In benefiting others,
we in fact also
benefit ourselves.

Original Mandarin Version
造福人群
就是为自己造福

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
Say if you are the boss of a restaurant, you treat your staff well, like give them good employment benefits or something like that. Happy employees performs well, waiters serve customers with a smiling face and friendly attitude etc. In the end, your restaurant performs well and you make a good profit out of it.

For those who are still studying, helping out needy friends with their studies and in the tutoring process, you would have also prepared yourself for the exams.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Say if you write an useful article, folks who benefited from your article might be genuinely interesting in checking out your Google Adsense Ads.

Perhaps you sincerely commentated on like minded bloggers’ blog post, reciprocative ones are quite likely to happily return the favor.

Overlord
The image used in banner is from the game called “Overlord” in which the player plays the role of an Overlord, in which the player is free to choose a path of goodness or evilness. Released on the Xbox 360 as well as the PC.

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Are you going to purchase a console gaming system? Indra blogged about 5 reasons to love the Playstation 3 and why you should buy one.

Deimos’s Thoughts
In reality, benefiting others does not necessarily benefit yourself as well. For example you get conned by bloody con artists – they certainly made a good profit out of you, you get no benefit but lost much instead. Thus, scam awareness is very important.

Deimos Asks
Have you ever been conned or scammed before?

English Translation
If we have a good heart,
we will always be at peace;
if we do good,
every day we will enjoy many blessings.

Original Mandarin Version
时时好心 时时平安
日日造福 日日有福

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
This sounds too much like some religious scripture from some religious books, so Deimos will not discuss this further since he is not a preacher.

Anyway, it does not hurt if one has a good heart, right?

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Not sure how to relate this to blogging. Bloggers with a good heart will always be at peace, and if they do good, they will enjoy many blessings? Sounds too preachy eh.

However, looking at the Mandarin version alone, replace “福” with comments and it would become “日日造 comments 日日有 comments” which means if one comments daily on other bloggers’ blogs, one would have comments on one’s blog daily.

Of course, the comments must be sincere and the topics of the blog posts must be something that the other bloggers are interested in. This is a very common method for new bloggers to get some comments on their blog, to network with like minded bloggers.

Daniel Wu
The semi naked guy in the banner is Daniel Wu. Deimos wonders if he is hot and handsome enough for elezend and levian to wash their eyes with?

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Tech blogger Steve Yu recommends Windowpaper XP which allows users to add background images to Windows XP folders. Deimos prefer not to be distracted while browsing files.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Deimos is no saint, but he avoids doing evil and strives to do some good within his own limits if the opportunity presents arises.

Deimos Asks
English Translation
Only by working together with one heart
do we have the greatest strength.

Original Mandarin Version
人人合心、协力
才能发挥最大的力量

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
This one should be quite self explanatory ya? Rome is definitely not built by a single person.

In nowadays big cooperate firms, say like banks, often organize team building sessions to get the employees in participate in activities together to promote the spirit of team work, an obvious attempt to enhance the productivity, yes?

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Perhaps a suitable example would be like one blogger hosting a big contest, while many other bloggers sponsor various prizes? In the end, every blogger benefits from it.

Lemmings Game
The image in the banner is from the game – Lemmings in which you must guide the cute creatures called lemmings to safety and not to their doom instead.

English Translation
Our life is most grounded
when we are contributing
whatever we can at each
and every opportunity

Original Mandarin Version
人生最踏实的事
是今日有多少力量
就尽快付出

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
Depends on what is being contributed. If contributing money, then it cannot “at each and every opportunity” already since there are a lot of con artist over here in Malaysia.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Now imagine if every blogger would contribute by commenting sincerely whenever possible, what would it be like aye? Nah, that would not be possible. Different people think differently, have different likes and dislikes for different topics etc.

Yuko Ogura
Yuko Ogura is the name of the girl in the above banner, Deimos failed to find suitable images to go with the banner so he resorted to such measures.

Deimos’s Thoughts
It has been quite a while since Deimos plastered images of girls to the Silent Thoughts banners. He wonders what elezend and levian will think of it.

Deimos Asks
Do you think Deimos is a pervert for using images of girls like that?

English Translation
The journey of life is short
but difficult to travel.
We must take each step with care
so we do not lose direction
and take the wrong path.

Original Mandarin Version
人生这段路并不长
但确实不好走
所以必须步步谨慎
切莫米了路走错了方向

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
Anakin Skywalker succumbed to the dark side and thus became the fearsome Darth Vader, fortunately there is still some good in him and he became good in the end.

Okay, we certainly are not Jedi Masters or Sith Lords, but we do make choices that effects our lives down the road. In High School, arts or science stream? SPM, which subjects to take? College, what courses to pursue? Freshly graduated, what kind of job to go after? Join what company? Take up post graduate courses?

Those mentioned above are quite harmless examples, more serious ones would be probably involve committing some crime, breaking laws, etc and ultimately lead a life like Nikko Belic, the protagonist in the latest Grand Theft Auto series.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
So what kind of directions would bloggers lose, paths taken wrongly? Started off as a niche blog, but became something else later on? Did not do any paid posts, but unable to resist the power of the force money and took the plunge?

Perhaps the only consequences of losing direction and taking wrong path for bloggers would be losing money, time and the possibility of achieving blogging fame?

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Some screen shots and a quick review of The Phantom of the Opera by levian.

Deimos’s Thoughts
Once a upon a time, Deimos lost direction, took the wrong path, in the end, he wasted precious three (3) years. Due to that reason only, he joined the work force at a later age. Time is precious, try not to waste too much time on the first degree course of one’s choice.

Deimos Asks
What kind of path are you on? Did you lose any directions?

English Translation
The ability to tolerate is not the highest ideal.
When we can see all adversities as natural,
what is there to be tolerated?

Original Mandarin Version
忍不是最高的境界
能够忍而无忍
才会觉得一切逆境
都是很自然的事

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
To tolerate is not exactly a nice and pleasurable thing, since usually mental or physical suffering is involved when one needs to tolerate. Plus, there might be times when one is unable to tolerate anymore, causing a violent volcanic eruption, not a pretty sight to behold.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers
Deimos is not sure what things that bloggers need to tolerate. Spammers? Akismet will take care of them. Commentators who plaster insincere comments? Not really a big deal right? Malicious haters hell bent on hacking your blog and tear it down? Tighten up the security?

Deimos’s Daily Reads
Computer got stolen? Did you install the Locate PC software on it?
Deimos’s Thoughts
Deimos has a lovely Darling who so happens to have a fiery hot temper and a very short fuse, further more, some how, Deimos always manages to set off that fuse. Hence, Deimos has the chance to practice the ability to tolerate very often.

Having a high tolerance level is very important in this very materialistic world of today, equipped with a high tolerance level, one is able to face outrageous bosses, superiors, clients and have a much better probability of surviving those deadly encounters.

Deimos is still working on improving his own tolerance level, luckily he got Darling to help him out. However, sometimes he loses focus and blew a fuse while Darling blew a fuse first and was throwing a fit. Nasty scene, violent aftermath follows.

Deimos Asks
What do you think about your tolerance level? High? Low? Why?

English Translation
The reason we feel lost and unhappy
is greed. In fact, we need very little
to sustain our life. Leading a simple,
well-grounded life, we will naturally
be happy and at peace.

Original Mandarin Version
人会迷失 是因心有贪念
其实衣食住行适用就好
简单而踏实地生活
人生自会平安辛福

Deimos Analyzes – For Non-Bloggers
If everyone practices the above, there would no rich mofos in this world.

Deimos Analyzes – For Bloggers

Deimos’s Thoughts
Perhaps a little bit of greed can motivate people to put in more effort, to excel accordingly. Not too much of it though, just enough would do.

If one got a bit too greedy, and felt lost and unhappy, perhaps by being content, one will be happy and at peace. Contentment is happiness, but don’t let that become an excuse not to drive oneself further, to put in more effort, to bring out the best in oneself!
