In case you do not know what Heroes Of Newerth is, read the following paragraph. If you already know what Heroes Of Newerth is, then you can skip the following paragraph.

Heroes of Newerth is the upcoming PC game developed by S2Games, the same guys who made Savage and the sequel Savage 2 hybrid RTS + FPS games. Heroes Of Newerth is still in closed beta testing so only those with beta keys are able to check it out before the masses do.

As of now, Heroes Of Newerth is still covered by a Non Disclosure Act (NDA) so please do not leak any media such as in game screen shots, videos, etc until the NDA is lifted.

Thanks to the good folks over at S2 Games, Deimos is given twenty (20) beta invites to distribute in his little blog about flash games download.

So if you want to receive a beta invite via email to participate in this Heroes Of Newerth beta, just comment on this post and answer the question under the “Deimos Asks” here below. Just to share your thoughts with other fellow wannabe beta testers.

Prototype Sound Fix – Overview
A Prototype Sound Fix for Prototype players who have sound issues or sound problems while playing Prototype. Many Prototype players experience chipmunk sounds or simply no sound at all during the Prototype in game cinematics. This Prototype Sound Fix will those sound issues and problems.

Prototype Sound Fix – Summary
1. Open files [ ..\Prototype\00audio.rcf ] and [ ..\Prototype\01audio.rcf ] via ScarfaceExplorer.
2. Extract files into the [ ..\Prototype\Audio ] folder.
3. Rename [ ..\Prototype\Audio\audio\ambience.p3d ] into something else.
4. Rename [ ..\Prototype\00audio.rcf ] and [ ..\Prototype\01audio.rcf ] into something else.
5. Select all files and folders (Ctrl – A) in the [ ..\Prototype\Audio\audio ] folder.
6. Cut all files and folders (Ctrl – X) in the [ ..\Prototype\Audio\audio ] folder.
7. Paste them in the [ ..\Prototype\Audio ] folder.
8. Start Prototype and play the game without any sound issues.

This method has been tested on Windows XP SP3 and it is confirmed to work. sos

The stuttering, lagging sound problems causing the in game cinematics to lag, slow down, becoming slide shows are fixed. No more sound issues or sound problems!

Make sure you download the ScarfaceExplorer software first.

Prototype Sound Fix – Extract files into audio folder

Choose the right folder to extract the files into, do you have enough hard disk space?

Rename the file instead of deleting it, just in case you need it for a future patch.

Prototype Sound Fix – Rename ambience.p3d

This file is not big at all, just rename it. Who knows, you might need it if there is a patch.

The camera seems to be hand held while the shooting is taking place, which causes the movie to appear jerky and shaking most of the time. Given that, this short five (5) minute fan made movie is still very entertaining and nice to view.

Well, it would be safe to say that fans of the Half-Life series will certainly enjoy this movie and will definitely look forward to the future series.

Oh yes, this is a wild attempt to harvest some traffic.

Overview
Now if the construction industry would be as simple as direct as building a house in The Sims, a lot of lawyers are going to lose a lot of money making businesses.

The Sims – Building a house

Building a house in The Sims is simple, you select the stuff you want to build – walls, windows, doors, sanitary wares fittings etc. Choose where you want to lay them, the items magically appear in the desired spot and money (Sims’ currency) is automatically deducted.

Reality – Building a house
In the physical realm, the real world, the reality where we live in, it is not that simple of course. To build a house, you need to own a piece of land, get various local authority approvals, engage various professional Consultants – Architects, Engineers of various fields namely civil and M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) and various Contractors to construct the said building.

Payment do not occur automatically, most of the time the clients (mofo who wants to have a building constructed) are not very swift with the payment that should be rightfully paid to the rightful parties (the ones who are involved in the building construction – consultants and contractors) so when payment issues arises these parties involved can refer to the contract they signed earlier.

Contractors, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers
So what happens if there is no direct contract? Like the Sub-Contractors and Suppliers do not have a direct contract with the client, what can they do in the event of payment problems? What they ought to do is to serve a preliminary lien notice.

Preliminary Lien Notice
To put it simply, Sub-Contractors and Suppliers must serve a Preliminary Lien Notice if they did not receive payment for their works or materials that they have provided so that they can proceed with the rightful claim of the monies that is owed to them.

A Preliminary Notice is a document used by the Claimant (Sub-Contractors, Suppliers) to inform the Client (mofo that owns the property), the Main Contractor and the Construction Lender – If the Claimant did not receive payment for their works or materials provided, they (Claimant) have the legal right to do stuff to file various claims against the Trio (Client, Main Contractor and Construction Lender) and the Trio would face various legal actions.

A Sub-Contractor or Supplier doing business in California can check out the preliminary lien notice services offered by the PROLIEN company should they be in need of it.

Deimos is a Quantity Surveyor graduate, his Dad has been running a construction business in the local building construction field for more than a decade and to be frank, Deimos believes that most big time building developers suck. They suck as in they are bloody leeches who suck away the monies that ought to be paid to the various building contractors.

Over here in Malaysia, the local construction industry is so bad, that most of the time them local contractors over here are paid zilch by them local developers. Bloody Sons of Bitches.

Oh by the way, local Quantity Surveyors are paid zilch for their employment too. The monthly salary just sucks. Fresh graduates are exploited by firms at every corner.

Find out what does The Sims and Probate Loans have in common.

The Sims – Living a limited virtual life

Our virtual counter parts – The Sims, have a limited virtual life of their own and will virtually pass away when their time is up, or when certain life threatening accident occurred.

Notice the area circled in red, which shows that particular Sim’s current age. This is a young adult Sim and still have quite a lot of days to go before become an Elder Sim.

The Sims – The Grim Reaper

Time to go, gramps. This Sim’s life thread is up and Death hath come to collect his soul.

Probate Loans
What are probate loans anyway? The word “probate” refers to the legal procedure of resolving everything that a dead person (most probably recently passed away) has, as in settling all the legal action to obtain money and allocation of that dead person’s various stuff (including property, of course). Hence, probate loans would be loans associated with such things.

So who would need probate loans? Usually, folks who are quite desperately in need of a sum of money, who are going to inherit some valuable stuff (probably some property worth a good amount of dollars) might probably find probate loans useful to them.

If you live in America and happen to have the need to apply for probate loans, then perhaps the Inheritance Funding Company (“IFC”) might probably offer you a good service as evidenced by the various Client Testimonials of their probate loans service.

Why is Akuma named Ogre? Is this what the western people call Akuma? Deimos knows that Akuma is also referred to as Gouki, or Hao Gui in Mandarin, but never heard of folks calling him Ogre before. In the comic book story, Akuma is a very powerful martial artist, he ought to be able to kick Sub-Zero’s rear end real easily, unlike what is recorded in the above video clip.

Sub-Zero has always been a favorite Mortal Kombat character of mine since I first got to know him back in 1993, that was during a holiday trip to Los Angeles. I can still remember it till this day, it was in an arcade center in Disney Land, Los Angeles, USA.

I was totally fascinated by the life-likeness (back then in 1993, them Mortal Kombat characters do look very life like though) of the characters and the amount of blood involved in it. Guess violence and blood do mix well together, hence nowadays we have Grand Theft Auto 4. Yeah, I love virtual violence.

Need a good laugh? Navin shared with us a bunch of interesting screenies about geeks.

Smart Gamer cum Philosopher Wan Kong Yew wrote up three (3) quality gaming reviews – Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Now if only I have the time to play it. The original Half-Life released in 1998 really changed the way how First Person Shooters were developed.

Originally, games are meant to be a form of entertainment, not to be taken too seriously at all. Nowadays, I find it that there are far too many folks who take games way too seriously. Take World of Warcraft (WoW) for example, so many WoW zombies already and the figure is ever increasing everyday.

Before I started to blog, I spent much hours on gaming daily. Now, I still love to play games, but I find that I am spending much less time on gaming though. Blogging activities just takes up way too much time.

Perhaps I should adopt some more effective blogging methods?

I think the Shao Khan and Scorpion are cheating? Or is this a boss fight for Ryu and Sakura? Shao Khan seems to be doing ridiculously insane high damage with his moves while Ryu and Sakura only appears to be scratching their skins! Unfair!

I think this fan made cross over battle game was developed using the MUGEN vs fighting game engine or some thing like that. Never thought that the fans of both games would be still so loyal to both these games in such a creative way.

Fellow Chinese Indonesian Gamer – Michael Aulia – who is currently down under in Aussie caught my attention with a post about an upcoming free game – Battlefield Heroes – developed by the same bunch of mofos that brought us the Battlefield series. Cartoon-ish player models, third person view, due to release in Summer 2008, now this is one game that I am most certainly looking forward to.

Gamer cum Anime Lover – Sanjo-chan found and shared a video of a bunch of World of Warcraft players in a private server participating in some event related to stairs. If you ask me, I’d say these mofos have too much time on their hands.

Do you like browser based web games? Dinosaurs? Driving around in a Jeep? If you do, you might be interested in what Wan Kong Yew introduced – Off-Road Velociraptor Safari.

It appears that Tyler had been busy developing something, and it turns out to be a game! An open source first person shooter! Must download and check it out later.

Are you a World of Warcraft (WoW) zombie? Luckily I am not one of them. Them WoW zombies might find these Rogue Guides posted up by Louis to be of some useful reference.

Welcome to Level 12, where one becomes “Leaping Man” again.

This is the first Vertical Platform that one will fly out from.
________________________________________________________________________________

This is the bottom where one will plunge in to pick up speed to come out flying. ________________________________________________________________________________

Okay, proceed to plaster a Portal (Blue) to the Vertical Platform above. ________________________________________________________________________________

Open up another Portal (Orange) at the bottom, then jump into the Portal (Orange).
________________________________________________________________________________

One will reach a higher area after doing the above mentioned. Rinse and repeat.
________________________________________________________________________________

Now shoot a Portal (Blue) at the higher Vertical Platform.
________________________________________________________________________________

No need to open new Portal (Orange) at the bottom, just leap into it.
________________________________________________________________________________

So there is a Big Red Button here and a Cube up there, get the Cube.
________________________________________________________________________________

Position Portal (Blue) as depicted above. ________________________________________________________________________________

Again, take a good aim and jump into the Portal (Orange) below. ________________________________________________________________________________

Yes! The Cube is in sight! Grab it and jump back to the area where the Big Red Button is. ________________________________________________________________________________

Drop the Cube onto the Big Red Button, and the exit door opens! Wohoo!

Time to get the poke outta here. Last leap into the Portal (Orange) at the bottom.

Guild Wars – PvP – Random Arenas – Warrior / Monk – Removal Paladin

Equipment Set Up
Anything one’s warrior is comfy with. A Sword is required.

Skills

1. Severe Artery:
Bleed ‘em from a real up close and personal, apply Gash immediately. Do feel free to cover any Conditions with Severe Artery.

2. Gash:
Make ‘em suffer! Only works if target is already Bleeding.

3. Final Thurst:
Shove this skill up their rear ends when their health is less than 50%, also best used as a finishing move, especially against softies (casters) when their health is down to 25% and they are already Bleeding and have a Deep Wound.

4. Rush:
Run after them, or run away from them.

5. Watchful Spirit:
Cover Mending with this. Quickly re-apply this when it gets removed.

6. Mending:
Use this straight away while waiting for the round to start off. Use Watchful Spirit when Energy has fully regenerated.

7. Signet of Removal:
Use this to remove all those nasty Hexes and annoying Conditions.

8. Resurrection Signet
Help team mates get back on their feet and join the fight.

Damage Per Second (DPS)

Overall, the average Damage Per Second (DPS) is not really that impressive. However, the highest damage that one is able to dish out with Final Thrust is decent.

Step by Step Guide to play a Removal Paladin:
1. Cast Mending upon oneself
2. Wait Energy to fully regenerate
3. Cast Watchful Spirit upon oneself
4. Engage softies, preferably a Monk
5. Severe Artery, followed by Gash, cover Gash with Severe Artery if possible
6. Keep Dash activated always
7. Remember to use Signet of Removal on Enchanted Team Mates who needs it
8. Execute target with Final Thrust when their Health is less than 25%
9. Switch targets if current target is Blocking
10. Be observant, switch to low Health targets, Final Thrust them if possible

Advantages
Constant Health Regeneration:
Having both Mending and Watchful Spirit on means a +5 Health Regeneration unless either or both is removed by Enchant Removals.

Energy Free Hexes and Conditions Management:
Using Signet of Removal, one is able to remove One (1) Hex and One (1) Condition from oneself, or any other target allies, as long as the target is enchanted at the moment the Signet of Removal is used upon the target ally (or oneself).

High Spike Damage:
A well executed Final Thrust can really spike for a juicy amount of damage, often scoring up to 150+ damage per strike on softies (casters) who are on the run.

Disadvantages
Enchant Removals:
Signet of Removal does not work if one is not Enchanted. Without Mending and Watchful Spirit, the Removal Paladin is unable to heal oneself.

Blockers:
Nothing much could be accomplished here, focus one’s attention on another target, come back later to apply Bleeding when the Blocker is not Blocking.

Are you a parent yet? Well, not me, I am too poor to afford to have kids at the moment. However, Mike is a parent and his latest article talks about information, opinions and the mindset of kids. The mind is a terrible thing to close, indeed.

Yesterday, I mentioned that Vickie’s Grandma was not doing so well. Today, I wish to express my condolences to her and her family for the passing of her Grandma. Rest in peace yo!

Somehow, this reminded myself of how old my doggies already are. Baby girl (a bitch, aka female doggie) is turning Twelve (12) years old this year, her sight is like almost 100% gone, always knocking her head into things while she walks around inside the house. She spends most of the time sleeping and I wonder what good this would do for her health, sometimes I saw her breathing very heavily and I wonder if she is suffering or something. I know that I will cry myself a river when she finally does passes away, just hope that it is not too soon.

As a Firefox user myself for a very long time, I have gotten myself used to the auto filling password function of Firefox. However, I certainly did not know it could be maliciously exploited in the past, and very possibly in the future too! Michael Aulia shared with us a Firefox plugin – Firefox Secure Login Extension to combat this issue. I am so gonna install this plugin right away!

Personally, I believe that this is actually a very useful offensive as well as supportive build, as long as the opposing team does not carry any Enchant Removals, that is. However, folks tend to have a very negative impression towards a Warrior who uses Mending in PvP, especially Random Arenas. So I flash Signet of Removal before I use Mending, smart team mates would know why I use Mending then.

Tutorial : How to beat Portal – Level 11

Welcome to Level 11! The Orange Portal Gun and be found in this level! Wohoo!

The Orange Portal is lying down there, just waiting to be grabbed! The Horizontal Moving Platform is not activated and one needs to send a Glowing Ball into the Glowing Ball Receiver on the left hand side to get the Horizontal Moving Platform moving. ________________________________________________________________________________

The Orange Portal rotates itself and opens up Orange Portal in four (4) different directions. Simply open up a Blue Portal and wait for the Orange Portal to be opened in a place where one is able to land one’s feet on safe solid platform as depicted above. ________________________________________________________________________________

Once down there, one needs to get into the room with the Glowing Ball Launcher to divert the Glowing Ball out of the room and into the Glowing Ball Receiver. ________________________________________________________________________________

Bash the Red Button and the Door to the room where the Glowing Ball Launcher resides will open. Quickly launch a Blue Portal into it and wait for the Orange Portal.
________________________________________________________________________________

The above screenie shows an Orange Portal being opened up by the Auto Rotating and Shooting Orange Portal Gun in the middle of the room. Step into the Orange Portal. ________________________________________________________________________________

Once inside, position Blue Portal as depicted in the above screenie. Notice that the Glowing Ball passes through the Blue Portal. It will take some time for the Orange Portal to be opened in the correct direction for the Glowing Ball to fly into the Glowing Ball Receiver. ________________________________________________________________________________

Executed properly, the screenie illustrated above is the desired result. From the above, one can see that the Glowing Ball Receiver has received the Glowing Ball. ________________________________________________________________________________

Now get back out there and get ready to grab the Orange Portal Gun. ________________________________________________________________________________

Wait until the Orange Portal opens up beside the Horizontal Moving Platform, then get onto it by entering the Blue Portal and coming out from the Orange Portal. ________________________________________________________________________________

Yes! Portalicious! The Orange Portal Gun is in sight! ________________________________________________________________________________

Now let’s get the poke out of this place! Hit that Red Button, and shoot a Blue Portal (or an Orange Portal) into the room when the gate opens. ________________________________________________________________________________

Now hop back onto the Horizontal Moving Platform, shoot an Orange Portal (or a Blue Portal) into the wall as depicted in the above screenie. ________________________________________________________________________________

Now take one good luck at this room before leaving it. Just joking. Totally no idea why this screenie was captured in the first place. ________________________________________________________________________________

All right! This screenie shows that one has successfully acquired the Orange Portal Gun and thus the Portal Gun is now capable of launching two (2) different types of Portals! The Blue Portal and the Orange Portal. The upcoming levels would be a bit more exciting now. ________________________________________________________________________________
